He was spurred to go into photography in 2005. His early works were inspired by the essence of humanity and the living conditions of his subjects. Most of his portraits can be interpreted as dialogues between his subjects and their habitual environment. Uche’s current style seems to draw attention to the continent (Africa) were he uses cinematic narratives as reference to investigate the stereotypical representation of deviant or marginal cultures.
Uche is a founding member of the Nigeria photography group known as the Blackbox photography collective and a founding member of the Invisible Borders Trans-African photography travel group in 2009. His first major work “Under Bridge Life”, published in 2008 was favorably received by the critics and exposed him to the international media and art market.

He started Photography in 1992 as a teenager, when he was given a Yashica G analog camera by his cousin Emmanuel Ologeh. This gesture spurred an interest that has since become unquenchable! Which has over the years influenced his photography, he works with the analog cameras of different grade and mostly shots in Black and White. He is of the view that Black and White photography is “less distracting”.
Otuke is a founding member of the Nigeria photography group known as the Blackbox photography collective which was birthed after an extensive workshop in 2006 titled “Football World” by Akinbode Akinbiyi
Kunbi is a creative thinker, quality driven team leader and player with excellent interpersonal oral and written skills. Her eclectic work experience in diverse industries such as Telecoms, Aviation, Media, Arts and Interior design contributes to her wealth of knowledge.
She is a published Novelist and Writer. Kunbi is also the Creative Head and Design consultant at Devoilee Interiors, an Interior design company.
She is well traveled and loves family, friends and church. She enjoys dancing, traveling, the beach, arts, engaging people in intriguing conversations and writing on her blog.
He currently lives in Nigeria but has exhibited abroad and known to international audiences in Europe, United States and other African countries. He is a member of several art institutions including African Photojournalism Database, GTBank Art635 Gallery, The Nlele Institute mentorship program and an alumnus of FotoFactory Lagos.
Obasola’s mission as a photographer is to reshape perspectives provide solutions to endemic problems and capturing enduring moments vis-a-vis time. The narrative of his work ensures that he is always engaged with his audience through the universal language of photography.
He also occupies the role of Program Manager and Artists Liaison & Coordination at the Nlele Institute Lagos.
